Do I need a full rewire?+
Not every property needs a full rewire. The age, condition and findings from inspection and testing help establish the work required. We will discuss your options after assessing the installation.
Can you rewire an occupied house?+
Yes. The existing A1 service includes occupied properties. Discuss access, working areas, furniture and essential appliances during the survey so disruption can be planned for.
Will the work damage my decoration?+
Cable routes and access affect the amount of disturbance. Existing routes may be reused where suitable. Making good and any decorating required should be agreed in your quotation.
How much does rewiring cost?+
It depends on the property, number of circuits, sockets and light fittings, access and finish. A1 offers a free on-site estimating service for rewiring.
Can you replace just the fuseboard?+
Often, but the existing wiring and installation must be assessed first. A consumer unit replacement does not remedy unsuitable wiring elsewhere in the property.
Do you provide electrical reports for buyers?+
Yes. Share the address, property size and contact details for the agent or vendor so an inspection can be arranged with permission.
Can landlords arrange testing?+
Yes. A1 provides electrical inspection and testing for landlords. Tell us the property type, access arrangements and any deadline when enquiring.
Will I receive paperwork?+
The appropriate installation certification or inspection report is provided for the work carried out. Confirm the required documents and handover arrangements with your quotation.
Do you offer discounts for older customers?+
The existing A1 website advertises a 10% OAP discount. Confirm current eligibility and terms when requesting your quotation.
